AR-15 or mini 14? opinions please?

debating on a mini 14 or AR-15....poeple who own both or poeple who have one or the other....any pro's and con's? this going to be mostly for cyote hunting. im leaning toward the ar because i hear they are little more accurate and dependable? little help

id say AR because of parts and accessories.

I think it's personal preference. They both have a ton of aftermarket goodies available for their particular platform

have never shot a Mini but i love my AR... def go with that...

AR all the way! I shoot lots of coyotes every year and my AR will drop em way out there. The thing I didn't like about the mini's I've shot, is there accuracy. Not very good from what I've seen. They just don't patern as good as AR's. I shoot an Olypic Arms AR-15. I've been very impressed with it, since it is one of the lower priced models. It will shoot 2in groups at 200 yards with factory loads.

AR for sure, everything Ruger makes has an element of "cheapness" to it...

You know Ruger is kind of an anti-gun, gun company. It was they who actually Proposed the 10 rnd limited mags and themselves always restricted hi-cap mags, folding stocks, and vented hand guards.... They're a weird crew over there

How somebody in that business lays the ground work for the problem being the hardware and not the person behind the gun is beyond me!

id go with an AR frame. i would say its the 1911 of rifles. and the caliber choice is almost unlimited

I have both and the AR is my "Go To " rifle. My mini is a pre ranch model ( the best era for min's) and is SS, and my Bushmaster will out shoot it big time!!!
If you want a great deal on a awesome AR Bud's has a Flat top Double Star for $669.00 this wrre left over from a military contract, so they are all mil spec. This is half of what a mil spec rifle is selling for. I ordered one right away and yesterday ordered all the goodies for it. You can't have to many evil black rifles. They won't last long at this price!!!

ive owned both before. My mini 14 is a fun gun but not super accurate.
get the AR
