In Alabama, You have to take the safety course before you can get your license no matter how old you are. So if you are 40 years old and just starting to hunt, you have to take the safety course. I dont know about Ohio

True. In Alabama you dont even have to have a hunting license to hunt on your own land. But, that is for the owner only. Not for the owners family or even kids.

Texas grandfathered older hunters, but my kids are 21 and 19 and had to get one. I got mine to hunt in Kansas many years ago. It's not a bad idea to get it, as all 50 states honor each others course, thus if you go to another state, you're ready.

I just took hunter's safety class and I really enjoyed it. It was actually quite fun. Not to mention, you will learn new useful things regardless how old you are or how many times you've been hunting. Just take the class and I guarantee you won't regret it.

Why would you want to do that? And the answer is no, you can not get them online.
