Displays only one page

Howdy tech guys,
My problem is this...When I haven't logged on for a day or so the box in the upper left hand corner will say ex: "800 new posts" when I click on that all I can view is one page. In the past at the bottom of the screen there have been pages to click on. Surely there is no way all 800, 1016, or 573 posts are contained on one page?
Anyways, just thought I'd see what y'all have to say about this.

there is a black bar with several tabs at the upper part of the screen, click new posts, then scroll down to teh desired bacck time, see if the same thing happens
