Picture Size

Howdy All,
I an having problems posting pictures. When I try to upload them I usually get a message that says (paraphrasing here) "file to big only allowed 96Kb....." I am using Picasa photo program and the format is I am using is jpeg. Hope I said that right. Anyways I have seen some large pictures on the site and want to post some that you don't have to squint to see.
Thanks,
Craig

Sorry Craig... don't know how your thread slipped past.

I am not familiar with Picassa... so I really can't tell you what to do there.

I use a free program called Irfanview. It works really well for me. You can open a pic with it.. then resize as much as 1% at a time. This will let you get your file size small enough to meet posting limitations, without turning your pics into postage stamps.

I use irfanview also and works great. Another one is photobucket you just put it on the setting size you want ie: forums, email, etc.

But what about the message I get saying the picture size is too large. Does that have to do with Picasa? The problem comes when I hit the "Upload" tab. That is when after a few moments / minutes I get the "file size exceeds allowed size of blah blah blah Kb's. In Picasa I have already reduced the picture down to the lowest scale.
Thanks,
Craig

I set all my pics to 700x525 - there is a cool Freeware program I started using the other day called MIR - Tucows Downloads - Multiple Image Resizer .NET 1.0.1980.21025 Freeware Software

It works GREAT, can re-size entire folders of pics at once and is FREE.

Try 700x525 and if it still says it's too big let me know.

If you are trying to upload to the picture to the Forum's server, you have a limit to a small pic. To get the large pictures you see in the posts, you need to upload the pic to a photo hosting site, like photobucket and then copy and paste the image code into the post you are making.
