Are uparmered humv weight about 15,000 lbs. And when people roll them they get f'ed up talk about cut heads bruised all over. There not suited very well for a rollover, nothing but sharp angled metal and huge bolts. Not to mention all the ammo cans and a huge 240 flipping with you. Dunesrunner was very lucky. Most people that flip them now dont see another day of service (medic discharge). But this new on e looks sweet just wish they could turbo these fat pigs.Well they could if there was no dust in the desert.

The Air Force up armored are a little differet from every other branches up armored Humvee's... they weigh about double and were turned down by the otehr branches for that reason alone.... but you are right about injuries when they do flip... My 60 gunner got banged up pretty bad....... none the less it was still very driveable once we were wheels down again....

The up armored HMMWVs are turbo and the AF really are not that different from the others, M1116(af) and the 1114/1151/52(army) are the exact same with different back sections and turrets. the M1116 has a square back and the 1114 has the slant back, 16 turret has an optional blast cover but has lighter armor. As long as they are not the maintenance nightmare the HMMWVs are I would like to see us get a safer more capable vehicle. I like the MRAPs but they have there growing pains and the lack of diagnostic equipment in the desert has hurt the reliability of the truck, BUT they are still out getting the job done!!!!!!
