Looks like a sharp truck! Having Cabella's name on it is going to jack the price up like someone else said.

For you folks wishing for the DPF to go away. That isn't going to happen, short of better technology. If you are going to buy a new diesel, car or truck, it's going to have some type of power robbing emissions control. J.M.O..

Eplain the DPF? I am currently in a 1999 7.3 with 355k on it. Drove it since day one. Great truck but am looking to trade. was hoping for a 6 speed auto. Perhaps I should opt for a chip. the '99 has been such a great truck and I never saw a reason to chip. But this new rig needs to get some better gas mileage.

DPF: Diesel Particulate Filter: A filter in the exhaust to catch soot, which after a while will begin to clog. The truck then will go into active regeneration, where the ecm will inject fuel during the exhaust stroke to elevate the temp. in your exhaust to burn off the soot in the DPF, (part of the reason for bad mpg, as this generates no hp.). Hope that helped. I'm sure I missed something but that's the jist of it.
