I'm shocked no one answered the ford/navistar question yet. It is definately going to be a ford built engine, because of the legal turmoil between the two companies, they are getting a "divorce" so to speak. One of my buddies actually heard rumors of chevy buying the new powerstroke motors from navistar, makes me sick go

I thought there was %40 more BTU's in diesel. Wouldn't that equate to %40 better MPG. heck my EX gets 15 mpg in the city, about the same as my Inline 300 F-150.

1 gallon of diesel = $10
1 gallon of urea = $35

Your going to need a more efficient setup and maybe a mortgage to fill your tank(s)

Urea for diesel SCR-NOx could cost up to $35/gallon - Selective Catalytic Reduction, nitrogen oxides - Brief Article - Statistical Data Included | Diesel Fuel News | Find Articles at BNET.com

The urea will probably last a few thousand miles by the time it's perfected. 18 gallons of diesel to one gallon of urea? Sounds like someone is against the idea.

I say you better get one with a DPF while you can. These may be the last of the good trucks.

I wonder hard it would be to retro fit this new engine into my 03 Expedition. Probably not much of a chance the bell housing would match up to the back of the engine. I wonder if Advanced Adapters could make something work.

These plans have been postponed because Nissan only sells 25% of what the big 3 (soon to be big 4 with Toyota) sell per year. I think the '08 might be the last model year until they make some changes and it will show it's face again in '09. Maybe it will be released in Jan. '09 and a 2010 model. I hope not though, because then my truck won't be worth much...
