I don't get these trucks, they are massive, but they still only have an 8 ft bed.

They have been putting Cat engines as well as 5.9 Cummins engines in them prior, I'm sure there is no question about it not being powerful enough. It's not that big.

Why dont they put marine engines in these suckers they are already rated at 1,000 and 1,200 HP

The Frames are usually cut down to fit an 8' bed from a 350/450 DRW.

Why not just put a bigger bed on it. So basically they take a massive truck and make it the same as a smaller one.

Whats next, Pete 389's with 6 ft short beds?

I think they look fine with an 8 foot bed. I would guess it's probably easier to just cut the frame down rather than have a bed custom made to fit the longer frame.
