Ditto on the 7.3 psd even though I've had alot of fuel system issues with my 2002 with superchips flipchip and waste gate override. I keep getting a GD code when pulling my trailers even with the chip off and the motor goes on self preservation and shutdown modes. I can't get Ford to figure out the problem after 5 hpops and injector seals and thirteen turbo pedestals. Its not the Navistar parts that are the problem. It's the GD Ford crap part #s that fail. Not to mention their junk auto transmissions. 4 of those and I only have 92K on my F350 CC 4X4. SDuty my a--!!! I don't blame Navistar for Fords F--- ups and lousy remanned parts. I should have stayed with the General when I bought this piece of crap. Seems like they have been going backwards ever since. I almost bought a 2008 when they came out but after hearing of the Ford/Navistar impending split I backed away wondering if parts were even going to be availble to keep it together in less than a few years. They better get their proverbial sh-- together soon... Just my $64k's worth and counting

You guys are hilarious, who cares what the test mule looks like. what makes me happy is that Ford actually has a test truck on the road in 2008 for a motor there going to releasing in 3 years. That makes me think that ford is dooing their homework this time.

And lests face it, if that test mule was a dolled up king ranch, who would end up paying for it in the end? All of us when we buy our next trucks.

southern73, man I hear ya about going back to the 7.3 days. It's a shame really. Those engines are damn near a perfect V8.
And cchase, if you read that, the 6.0's are a big part of why they're doing it. All the problems with the 6.0's that Ford had to deal with cause of warranty and Navistar didn't want to pay for it, that's most of the legal battle. LOL. Poor 6.0's.

When this truck (er the engine, since that will SURELY outlive the truck) follows the big white light at the end of its days, I'm gonna look for a 7.3 with the lowest miles I can find, i don't want to run a 50% chance a problematic 6.0 ... sorry lol

Yeah for sure, they'd be 80k-90k instead of 50k-60k.......

Even though that "thing" is a mule, it is one ugly a-- truck. After ford changed to the new style, I would not even consider buying a new truck. A truck and the new style usually grows on a person after a while, but not the new ones. I will keep my '02 7.3 until the wheels fall off. IMO

Thats not a bad Idea, But the new ones are pretty sweet. I like mine, I like the front end and the King Ranch interior is to DIE for!!!!!!!
