is the ford security system worth a flip? I have a control module that is haphazardly wired into the truck....I doubt it was an option when I had the truck, so, would it be wise to upgrade it or just deal with what is there?

How would one install a kill switch? A manual type. What wire I mean.

Why would an alarm not work? I thought that they had a disableing function that would not let them start? Iam glad I too live in the north.

Besides alarms...Any truck with an electric fuel pump, easy to hide a power on-off switch to the pump somewhere. Mech pump trucks are a little harder, I have a ball valve on my 96 along with a power cutoff to the Fass and Aeromotive pumps.

Slows em down anyway....

My truck was broken into after owning it only 36 days (Willowbrook, Beltway 8 Area, North Houston) This is the second Ford in a three year period to be broken into in that area, the other was a F150.

I was told by the Ford Dealer here in Houston that some of the folks around here just replace the front door handle with a rear door handle, removing the key lock all together. That and the rear slider seem to be the weak points of entry for getting into the truck.

If the door handle thing doesn't work someone please let me know, because I am almost ready to get it done. That and a good alarm. My truck doesn't fit in the garage, and sits out all the time.

well i just had my truck broken into, so im doing the door handles on the front that are from the rear.I found the handles on ebay for around $10 for each side. Granted I have keyless entry and a new viper alarm, if that doesnt stop them then the train horn that im connecting to the alarm will let me know somethings up.
