2013 Ford F-Series Super Duty Platinum Edition

Quote:
The Platinum edition trim is FordĎs ultra luxury truck package that is now working its way up the ranks into the Ford Super Duty.

For 2013 Fordís F-250, F-350 and F-450 can all be had with the Platinum Edition package, specifically tailored to Fordís Super Duty pickups.

The exterior of the Platinum Super Duty will be noticeably different, especially the grille, which will feature a satin chrome surround accented by perforated mesh inside the grille. Chrome is the key word in luxury car exteriors, and the Platinum edition Super Duty wonít miss the mark, coming with chromed out door handles, mirror caps, running boards, exhaust tips and even chrome tow hooks. The Platinum name will be featured on the outside of the truck with chrome badges. Finishing off the luxury look will be 20-inch polished aluminum wheels with painted black inserts.

Of course the interior will come all wrapped in leather, including a leather wrapped steering wheel. Wooden accents will be featured throughout the interior, showing up on the instrument panel, center stack and and door trim.

For infotainment, the Platinum super duty uses the MyFord Touch system with some exclusive tweaks specifically geared at truck buyers. Unlike other MyFord Touch systems which did not include physical climate controls, the Super Duty will incorporate the old school way of doing things with large knobs and buttons so that the climate can be influenced easily by someone wearing gloves. Other standard amenities include power adjustable pedals, a rear view camera, a remote start system, power telescoping mirrors and universal garage door opener.

The Ford Super Duty platinum edition will be offered with two engines, the 6.7-liter Power Stroke diesel or the 6.2-liter V8 gas motor.

No pricing was announced, but considering the F-150 Platinum Editions $44,325 starting price, donít expect this decked out Super Duty to be cheap.

So what do you guys think?

Personally I don't know about the "satin" grille surround. I think I would prefer it to be chrome. Other than that, the wheels looks good and the mesh grille inserts are a nice touch. Interior wise I like the new My Touch features!

the satin chrome looks great.... but if it were me i think they should offer more for what the price is going to be for one of these... just looks to me that they are slapping on some bolt on's and calling it a day.

I agree. The platinum f150's come with a electric steps. Why couldn't they do that for the sd's? It seems like Ford went cheap with this one. Although the price is going to be through the roof.

I like the satin grill. And I agree that is should come with the electric steps. Why did Ford not completely finish the drill? If you are buying a new SD you know it is not cheap. If you want the Platinum you should get all of the bells and whistles

I love the red on that truck, if only it was lifted. What I do not like at all is the aluminum panel on the tail gate. It totally throws the truck look off and makes it look to cluttered. If I were to get one, the only thing I would change is I would get a painted grill, handles and mirrors, then get rid of that ugly tail gate panel

67k?? I'd be surprised if that truck was under 80k... I priced out a King ranch at 65k just a few minutes ago... Im pretty sure a platinum will be well over that.
