2011 Ford F-Series Super Duty: First Drive
![]() Since Ford spun off the Super Duty into a completely separate line from it's regular F-series, it's set the bar for the class in many respects. But as we all know, the competition doesn't exactly stand still, so to keep ahead and continue capturing the biggest slice of the market, updates are essential. For 2011, the folks from Dearborn have given the Super Duty a substantial makeover, including styling updates, new powertrain options, revised suspension, revamped interior and additional feature content not previously offered. In terms of models and configurations, the '11 Super Duty is offered in 12 different models for 'personal use' buyers, beginning with the F-250 XL at $28,020, all the way up to the F-450 King Ranch, which lists at a not inexpensive MSRP of $62,375. Between them you have Lariat and King Ranch models of the F-250; XL, Lariat and King Ranch Editions of the F-350; plus the same trim levels on the biggie F-450. Regular and Supercab configurations are offered on all XL and XLT trims, while Lariat and King Ranch Editions are crew cab only. More: 2011 Ford F-Series Super Duty: First Drive on AutoGuide.com |

I work for Ford dealership as a salesman and I have yet to sell one. Price seems to be big issue and I can undertand that. But for the money you are paying you are getting ONE HELL OF A TRUCK. Trailer anti-sway control, traction control, and not to mention the new 6.7 motor are just a few goodie goodies. Start a new 6.7 up and you would wonder if there was a diesel really under the hood. It is SUPER QUIET and almost comparable to the 6.2 gas in terms of sound IMHO. The interior makes the other top 2 look like dookie too. And with just about every safety feature coming standard you are well protected. The new computers in these trucks makes the electronics running my truck about as comparable as my laptop to a 1989 Apple from my school.

I have drive a 2011, XLT seats are 10x's better than the 2010's and it's ever so slightly quieter than the 6.4. Fuel mileage was 18+ going 65 for a 45 min drive.
The new 6 speed is awesome, being able to select and keep which gear you choose is the nutts. Power is good, less lag than the 6.4L and much more mid range. Around a corner you can hang the tail out on dry pavement. After 50, the truck rolls out hard, under 50 it goes through the gears quickly The 3.31's and the 6 spd , 55 mph was near 1200 rpm's Can wait till reabtes get better b/c I want a new Lariat |

I went and looked and a nice one today with a lot of extras including Ranchhands all the way around and a really nice flatbed on it. Funny thing was it was $5000 cheaper then an 2010 sitting next to it that was the same model and not out fitted with anything special. Only real difference was it was a short bed.
