Ford's 6.2-Liter F-150 SVT Raptor Now On Sale, With 3,000 Orders Already Placed

When Ford introduced the F-150 Raptor about a year ago, the only real complaint anyone could make against it was the truck's engine. Not there was really anything wrong with the 5.4-liter V8, it's just that with so much of the rest of the F-150 turned into a badass off-roader, the engine had been untouched – it's 320-hp and 390 ft-lbs of torque delivering just adequate performance. Then came reports that Ford would deliver a 6.2-liter V8 with 411-hp and 434 ft-lbs of torque – and that model is now officially on sale at dealerships across the country.

In fact, Ford has already registered 3,000 pre-orders for the truck, with 4,000 more of the original 5.4-liter version having sold so far. And the first Raptor 6.2 to roll off the line is heading straight to none-other than NASCAR driver Greg Biffle, who drove the F-150 SVT Raptor R in a Best in the Desert race.

With sales of the street-legal off-roader starting today, Ford has also announced a new line of Ford Racing Performance Parts for the Raptor, including an off-road light bar, tow kit, colored cam covers and a new front skid plate.

Love the truck, but for the same price as a powerstroke, I'll take the diesel.

they did get there hands on a 5.4, but you paid more for the big window decal than anything. for the money, you would be better off buying a kenne bell or a whipple and taking it to a respectable tuner.

Hennesy blows, Roush already has a supercharger kit for the 5.4.

Oh, and guess who does R and D for Ford and SVT? Roush Industries. Anyone wanna bet that a Supercharger kit is in the works for the 6.2?
