Thumbs up Rollin' to the Mountain (another freebie)

Would anyone be interested in heading to Pilot Mountain sometime Saturday afternoon? It's a great picture opportunity. Imagine, bunches of rigs hundreds of feet above beautiful NC as the backdrop. It's not far, only about 20 miles straight up 52 N. In fact, if you get on 52 N, off of Hickory Tree Rd and look in the distance you'll see the flat topped Pilot Mtn. in the background.

***It's cold and windy up there. If you go bring a jacket or sweater.***

5 counties, maybe. I think you can see Virginia and that's about it. We're too far in NC to see anything else. I think you're thinking of Lookout Mtn in TN.

It's something I'm trying to set up for us who have families. Pack a picnic lunch for you and your's. They have picnic tables and some hiking trails. The views are spectacular.

It is a very beautiful place, and if you have ever seen the Andy Griffith Show, that is where they talk about Mount Pilot

Semi Final Plan for Pilot Mtn

Saturday between 1 and 2. If you're going meet me in front of the building at the door closest to Bassett Gutters by 12:30. We'll roll out about 1 or so. Depending on weather we may not be there long, but the views will be worth it, I promise!

This being fall, the leaves are well into change. However, it was unusually dry this year and the leaves may be mostly gone by the time we get up there. It will still be spectacular, though. Dress warm, as it's usually at least 20' cooler up there than where we're leaving from. Hope for clear weather.
