Question How should I sled pull my stock 6.0L?

I have a 2005 F-350 Dually that I'm interested in sled pulling at the local fair for a night of fun, if she holds ha. All I have added to the truck is an AFE Stage 2 cold air intake and a MBRP 5 inch turbo back exhaust. I've read other reviews saying to try 4l 3rd gear but I feel that's too low, max wheel speed is around 20mph, I was thinking more less 4h 2nd gear so I can have the momentum and wheel speed for better dig on the track. Opinions, answers or experiences had would make great feedback, thanks!

4H and you will likely blow something up, reason for 4L is to keep the RPM range where you want it and not destroy anything.

i disagree on 4hi blowing stuff up. i've only pulled twice but i practiced in a field to get my rpms/speed right...

1- 4 hi and 2nd

2. 4low and 3rd

each truck is different just find a place where you can try and keep your rpms like 500rpm below redline and keep a 20-25mph speed. im studded and deleted so ran a hotter tune since it was just over 200ft first pull but it was really really fun and no damage at all... if you get any front wheel hop DO NOT HIT THE BRAKE just roll off the idle or the sled will rip your truck a new a$$hole lol...

-2004 excursion, banks exhaust, 03 turbo, afe intake
-2006 f350 king ranch, 10 in fabtech, 40in tires, sct tunes,

currently-1999 F250 SBRB 4X4 First 7.3 and feels good to be back in a diesel....

Interested in learning something new?

I pulled in 4hi and went from 1st to 2nd, ended up getting 268 in the 8,000lb class. My buddy added a 120hp tune to the truck to though hah.
