Lots of stuff on the home page!!

Just a bit curious....seems like lately there is a lot of stuff on the home page that keeps pushing the active topics further down the page.

I understand the need to keep the page fresh and updated, but does it have to take up so much room? I don't know what it takes to run a website and I do believe you all are doing a great job and I'm certainly not going anywhere - Too good of a site for that. Perhaps some...um...adjustments may be in order.

Example: Right now there is two sections about the current Poll. One really large and the other smaller with the SEMA Article sandwiched in between.

The layout of the home page is set up by the site owners. We as mods and members do have some pull for suggestions as far as the layout goes, and a while back we convinced them to size it down a little. But you are right, it has grown back to it's larger former self again...

I think the last time there were complaints about it we were told we could just minimize that section of the screen. That's what I do and it doesn't come back until a new article gets put up at the top. There's 3 of them right now that I have minimized. That keeps the active topics right at the top of the page.

I will of course forward your concern to the ownership...

I forwarded your concerns and this thread link to the admin. They have since ''trimmed some of the fat" on the homepage so-to-speak.
