2005 Excursion

I have been working on my 05 Excursion 4x4 6.0. The front leaf springs were shot. They sagged and I had about 2" between the spring/frame. It bounced and I had a lot of body roll.

I lifted it using F250 rear springs with a 4" block. I "B" mod the springs. The front are F550 "X" code springs with a 3" mini spring pack. Dual steering stabilizers, Bilstien shocks, Custom adjustable track bar, 35x12.50x20 Toyo AT2 Extremes, 20x9 Mickey Thompson Big Rig rims, and DIY HID projectors.

Things I have left to do. I already have the parts:

  • Front extended sway bar links & bushing
  • Track bar drop bracket
  • Front end work (ball joints, steering bushings...)
  • New hubs
  • Change differential fluids
  • Drop pit man arm

Cost for all parts:
  • Used rear F250 leaf springs $75 local
  • Used front F550 "X" code leaf springs $175 shipped
  • Front 3" mini spring pack and hardware $119 shipped
  • 4" welded rear blocks $65 shipped
  • Rear U-bolts $50 shipped
  • Adj. track bar $125 shipped
  • Extended sway bars $50 shipped
  • Drop track bracket $89 shipped
  • (2) Front hubs $127 shipped
  • Drop pit man arm $75 shipped
  • (4) Shocks $320 shipped
  • Dual steering stabilizer $120 shipped
  • Ball joints, steering bushings... $150 shipped
  • (4) 35x12.50x20 Toyos $1,450 shipped
  • (4) Big Rig Rims $750 shipped
  • 50" LED light bar $225 shipped
  • LED roof mounts $260 shipped
  • HID projectors & headlight housings DIY $300 shipped
  • (4) Glowshift gauges. EOT,ECT,Trans,EGT $250 shipped

Total around $4,750 DIY

Sorry I didnt take pics during the build. Here is the afters

I like it. At first wasn't feeling the wheels, after staring at the pics for about 20 minutes, they grew on me, liking the look now. That light bar setup is cool to. Damn mount costs more then the light tho. lol

Yes it is a factory bumper

I like the wheels. Wasn't sure if I would before I ordered them but glad i did. They are not too flashy and not many people have them. The mounts were $199 and they raped me on shipping $60!

Yes I got the LED light bar from eBay. No way was I gonna spend $1,200-1,500 on a name brand.
