I recently purchased the ppe xcelerator wen I got it in the mail I programmed my truck took only 5 mins Turned it on level 10 (215) HP and took her for a test drive wen I launched in 4x4 shifted fine from 1st to 2nd but slipped bad and wouldnt go in 3rd with my foot on the accelerator. What should I do to make the tranny more powerful ? I want to shoot for 6-650 HP wen its all said and done with this project Please help me out an throw some suggestions my way. I did try the accelerator the next day and the first run the tranny didn't slip thats one powerful programmer she took off like s rocket twice the power of my old SCT there's no comparison!
Okay bud thanks and its in the process as im typing this Full egr delete, oilcooler, arp studs, oem hgs , dummy/stand plugs , intake and exhaust gaskets and updated hpop . Did you build yours yet an nice truck looks pretty tight how much hp you pushin?
Yeah I loaded the tune and kept the transmission on the stock setting.. can u explain wat the transmission relearn process is new to all of this an never have heard anything about that
not familiar with your tuner brand
but anytime you load a tune and wipe the PCM or disconnect the batteries
the transmission goes into a condition called adaptive relearn or close to that term LOL
it will eventually fill in all the info itself so to speak but here is the way to accelerate the process
5r110 Shift Relearning Strategy
TorqShift Harsh/Slipping Engagements, Upshifts, and/or Downshifts:
If these symptoms are experienced after the batteries have been disconnected, then it is due to the transmission adaptive strategy being cleared from the computer. This may occur when the vehicle is delivered new from the factory as well.
1. Warm the engine and transmission to operating temperature with all accessories off.
2. Idle engine for one minute with engine warm and all accessories off.
3. Idle engine for one minute with A/C on.
Then:
1. While driving, perform three series of upshifts at light, medium and heavy throttle.
2. While stopped, perform three sets of gear engagements (N-R, N-D, D-R, R-D) with the brake pedal firmly depressed and waiting three seconds between each engagement.
Perform these steps once in normal mode and once in tow/haul.
Thanks a lot I appreciate u taking the time an explaining all that for me I've never heard of that it gave me the choice to make the tranny shift firmer an more aggressive but that was all.
Yeah I had the preloaded tunes for the sct before I liked the SCT worked great I just get twice as much power with the ppe plus I got it for a really good price
You should have tried getting some custom tunes for that sct before tossing it, i got tunes from MPT and man what a difference from the canned tunes, and they also have different trans. tune selections for each engine tune
