Well as of Friday, March 25th, I decided to ditch my super reliable LBZ for a 2009 King Ranch CCLB F350 with 82,000 miles. It's super clean, and far superior to my LBZ in every aspect ATM. The truck already had DPF and EGR deletes with a 4" exhaust, S&B intake and SCT TSX programmer. Everything on the truck checked out good, usual 6.4 blowby which is unsettling to me, but seems to be par for the course for 6.4s. My only complaint is pretty decent play in the steering, even though there seems to be no play in any of the joints (suspecting gearbox play), also going to be bringing down the ride height big time.
So here is to the beginning of my 6.4 build thread, hope to have this thing a long time, and hope it treats me well.
The second day I had it I put a new oil filter cap, and changed the fuel and oil filters with motorcraft parts and some mobil delvac 15w-40.
Today I ordered a 3" rough country kit to replace the monster lift, as well as a coolant filter kit.
Plan on installing these in a couple weeks, and plan on doing a coolant flush and ADII in the beginning of the summer.
