Actualy the tread title says "how many of you actually go wheelin with your trucks"

I just thought people might enjoy some wheelin pics to look at since I have none of my stroker and I dont see many other people contributing here.

I tired to do the math once,...just to get a "close" idea.

My truck weighs slightly over 8,600pds

That means...that each tire "roughly" has 2,000pds(1ton) of downward force on it....

Then it hit me,...all that weight is technically pushing on a contact pattern, no bigger than a carton of cigarettes....

geeeezzzussss....need bigger tires....lololol

Ummm....noooo.... again...that idea works on "light vehicles", like the cj5 you stated...not heavy ones,...on heavy vehicles you need wheel speed, to clean the mud out of the lugs.

Opps, my words didn't come out right. Your right, if the tread clogs you got to spin them to clear them so they can take a bite. I don't know what i was thinking of.

And some more ..Ummmmmm...noooooo..... I don't have turbo lag, I have an SCT, with a whole bunch of other goodies under the hood.

hate turbo lag. I'm seriously thinking of going sct and studs.

Yeah wasn't thinking about those 41's when i keyed in on the 456's. U need them gears with tires that tall.

That , cow, tree catcher you made, would be a pretty good job of tearing up blackberries and other brush. I'll bet you could plow right though brush and saplings with that set up. When that thought hit me i noticed that it looked like the front didn't quite extend down far enough to ward off potential damage to front end components. Does it? I can see where that gaurd would be of interest to some of the ranchers out my way in the brush. If you ever decided to market them let me know

Hey, you said in your operner your truck wasn't pretty but i think she looks great. There is a rig very similiar to yours in Sacramento. Always see it parked by the state capital building. Same color, lights, and roof rack but the brush gaurd is puny, but it looks sharp not as good as yours.

bfloyd4445- Thanks man!

When I designed the front bumper, I had to take into consideration a couple things, one of them you pointed out...."potential damage to front end components"...and another thing was....approach angle..

So... I had to find a middle ground, ...for the bumper to be reasonably effective in both areas....and even then I take extra precautions.

When I know I'm going "Rock'in"...I take off my dual steering stabilizers, to keep them from getting damaged....because in this next pic...they would have been destroyed.

Since I've been in the Military, I have learned a couple good things...one of them is RISK ASSESSMENT.....which means be prepared before-hand....and keeping that in mind before I do some of the stupid things I do...has saved my wallet quite a few times....lolol

When I made my Safari rack, I had to take a bunch of things into consideration too,...like body flex, how far to have it protrude from the vehicle, how long to make it, etc etc etc...all of this stuff has been a learning experience,..to say the least...lolol

Any chance you can get a pic?...I sure would like to see it...

BTW- whenever you plan on getting an SCT...or any other "trinkets"....let me know...I'll point you in the right direction.

You are a mechanic

Ok, so that wasn't an oversite as i expected you had that area covered. I'm like you, know the value of risk assessment having learned it the hard way.

Yep. its never as easy as it looks if you plan on doing the job right.

What about a buddy with an F-350 that could pull you out. You know green trucks don't get stuck as much as white one's! We need to find a good deal on some BIG straps. 6" is what I am in the market for, unless I can talk the old lady into a winch. (I'm wearing her down... )

As far as that tire pictured earlier...They look ok for an all terrain...Thoes looking for better sizes might check these out......they may not be exactly the same...but VERY close....Depending on rim size, they have them up to 37"

Actually, after further inspection, I bet they are the same tire with a different name on it. Or at least the same tread design.

I looked at it pretty closely too....looks like the exact same tire to me too.

The only difference is the sidewalls,...other than that...same same
