Warn 16.5ti winch

I'm researching winches and figured the 16.5 would be more than enough for me to ever need. I was curious how come I don't see too many folks using them or the ones I do see are all for sale? Am I missing something with these? Thanks.

I don't have an answer for ya on the 16.5s but I have a 15,000lbs Warn on my truck and it is more than enough for pulling myself or others out. I've had it for over 4 yrs with no problems yet.

i run the XRC 12k that 4wheelparts sells. It does just fine, ive pulled myself out 3x and a couple friends. When I pull myself i have truck in 4x4 and tires slowly turning while i winch, 12k never had a problem. Would love to have a warn 16.5! just expensive, and if your that stuck the winch will probably bend your frame or break the mounts for the winch off!!

I'd say the 12k would probably be fine. It's not quite dead weight I woud say, still some rolling weight. Plus I can get a snatch block (?) to boost the pulling power I'm sure.
