I air my jeep down to 4-5 psi but then Im running 35x15x15 Super swamper TSL bias ply tires on a 10" wide rim. I have been going to Silver lake for years and have never popped a bead on one jeep with that air pressure. Its amazing how much more traction you get by lowering the pressure. First time I went I went down to 10 psi, and found that was not enough. As long as I dont go and get crazy doing donuts you should be fine

here are some pics and vids of silver lake a few weeks back

its amazing what airing the tires down can do. i have the stock continentals which are at 75 psi. it takes me a while to air them down but once they are at 25-30 i can darn near idle over thick sand. i go to brigantine island n.j. to surf fish and theres trucks door to door up and down the beach, which beats up the sand pretty good. most guys forgetting to air down and i just roll right by em while they are full throttle trying to move in thier hummers h2's and import suv's, its hilarious.

Oh yes Silverlake sand dunes. I love that place. I took my truck big old 2002 F-250 4x4 crew cab up test hill. My wife was going nuts and I was going all out. I only air down to 20 psi just to prevent the bead popping. I think 15 psi is a little low. Plus if you go to the dunes for a whole weekend you don't want to air down and air up everyday. So 20psi all 4 tires is great to run around the dunes and still be able to cruise the town doing 25 mph.

I havent driven the F250 in the dunes yet, but I have drove both of my jeeps around from Sierra sands to the dunes entrance every day not airing back up and I stayed at 5 psi or under. As long as your not driving fast for long distances on the road you can keep the low pressure in vehicles and drive around the streets no problem.

That is true barry. But do you want to be driving a truck that wieghs 8,000+ pounds around on 15psi tires while on hard ball. I sure don't

You should take your truck out there on the dunes it is fun.
