Considering a New D.D., your input requested

I am considering getting myself a new daily driver and I need some input. I have narrowed my search down to the 99-08 Powerstroke Super Duty pickups but I do not know which powerplant I should go for. I would like to be able to build it up to be a fast truck but that is not as important as reliability. I plan for an automatic, 4wd, 4dr short bed. Do the 7.3ltr models have a four speed or five speed automatic? I have considered taking advantage of a bad situation and getting a brand new model from our local Ford dealership. I went to the local dealer a couple months ago and was slightly shocked whenever the guy took 13000 off right off the bat. It makes me wonder how much they would knock off of it now with the current condition of the economy and the state of the "Big Three". I would just like any and all the help and info I can get before I make my decision.

I'm biased cuz I've only owned my 6.0, but I wouldn't hesitate to get another one. just as long its got warranty on it still, all of its problems can be fixed.

If i had to do it over again, I would have held out a little longer to find an 05-07 Harley

I am no help becuase I am torn between all 3. 7.3 becuase you can beat pretty good on them and they stay together with few issues, if you are going to go big power would want to have forged rods, not PMRs. For power per dollar I think the 6.0 is the best bet, get it studded, 03 turbo and

The 08s are very nice trucks, but the emisions are what bothers me, and I have never been one to leave anything alone, so I will never buy a new vehicle becuase it doesnt stay stock long.
