What I would like to know is how many were asked this question when the new 6.0 came out and what the answer was back then....

I haven't had too many problems with my 04. I did have the fuel injection wiring harness thingy start giving me the finger, but I was all over my recalls, and usually got mine in before everyone else, and before I had too many problems. I don't know about you guys but I gots too many frog pelts already invested in my current rig to trade it off for an untested engine. That, and the reading that these new engines are gonna be beepbeepbeepbeep near impossible to mod out, even with exhaust and intakes, I gotta stick with what works.

-There are very few personal problems that can't be solved by the proper application of high explosives!

Nope, like most of the replies to this I'll be waiting to see how it works before giving it any thought... Being based off the basic 6.0 isn't enough since the rest of the beast is a complete re-engineering... The piezo injectors at least aren't new but they are to the the big three diesels... Have to see how that new turbo setup works for that matter and you know they're going to change a hundred other things in the process...

Hurry up and wait, no problem...

Ken....

I have to believe that if history repeats itself, the hp and torque numbers on the 6.4 will be improved by sometime in '08. This necessity is going to be fueled by the fact that this motor is already behind the Dmax and Cummins in the numbers game. Also if this motor can't be modified as has been speculated, then who wants something that the older modded motors will beat the pants off of?

I believe we will see changes in the first year and beyond that it's just a waiting game to see how they hold together. I just got my '06 in August so I'm in for at least 2 years before I'll think about the trade. No problems here after over 7,500 miles. Unless that fact changes, I'm sticking with the 6.0!

Heck, I just got my 6.0 .

One of the reasons was because the 6.4 was coming out soon and I have had all of the first model-year vehicles I am EVER going to buy

I'm happy with my 7.3, but who knows? I've been known to be impulsive on ocassion. If I was to get a new one it would be the 450, and it would be a lease for the first year to make sure it was right, then decide from there.
