2002 Ford Explorer V6 vs. 1996 Ford Explorer V8

Guys I am a little scared that I made a bet that I am going to lose. I bet a guy that my 02 could beat his 96 now i am not so sure i ran the numbers. his v8 has 210 hp and 280 lb/ft tq. he has a curb weight of 3915 lbs. My '02 has 210 hp but only 254 lb/ft tq. and a curb weight 4104 lbs. now i am going start with gas and brake and let out brake and go while he will only hit gas. i will have o/d off and he will have o/d on. he has about 90,000 miles and i have about 53,000. what do you guys think??? and any other race tips will be appreciated. the strip we are using is just shy of 1/4 mile. thanks guys and i really need some help.

You have a more efficent fueling system, I'd be willing to be the v6 will be able to keep up with the v8 that has more power.
