Waterfowl or Colorado Elk hunting for the upcomming season?

I've been duck hunting for YEARS and I am obsessed by it to say the least! I'm a majority owner in a club outside of Dunnigan, CA and I guide also. BUT I have an Uncle that has gone to Colorado every year for Elk hunting, and I FINALLY drew an invitation. Problem is, this year I can only afford to do ONE. SO..???? Which one?
My duck hunting buddies are PISSED because I'm leasing my seat (this season only) to pay for the Colorado hunt if I go. Even being an owner I have to pay yearly for water rights (we flood 1,500 acres)

So what do you all think?

if you have never been elk hunting......i would definately do that!! Birds are fun, but there is nothing IMO that compares to hunting elk. They are so smart....they can spot you a mile away....and they will make you go up and down mountains that you cant believe you would ever go up or down. Its the ultimate adrenalin rush when you get up to one you just killed too!! There is just something about them that draws a ton of respect for them and pride for yourself when you get one. A person really cant explain that though.....you have to experience it!!!

There is nothing like elk hunting. The rush when they come in bugling and looking for a fight. It's awesome. Elk hunting is why I moved out here.

I figure one of these years I'll make an elk hunt but a few days hunting an elk vs. an entire waterfowl season I say waterfowl. And I say that because I live to hunt and I mean LIVE. The longer I can be in the field the happier I am. That's why I laugh when people call Texas deer dogs - yeah but I can hunt them dogs for over 3 months and shoot at least 5 of 'em. I'm sure the elk hunt would be amazing and hands down an awesome hunt but when it's over and all your buds and going out every day after work and busting waterfowl while you're watching is gonna suck.
