Mostly Craftsman here.....bang for the buck...I am not a professinal mechanic so they are goode enough to use under my shade tree. and when I do break them they replace them..just not as willingly as they did in the past. I did visit a Kmart about a month ago.I wanted to buy a diehard battery for my explorer.seeing diehard and craftsman tools there just didnt seem right but its convieniant and open alot hours

I own Mac, Matco, Craftsman, and Snap-on. At my shop I have all kinds, but at work its 90-95% Snap-on. I buy Snap-on to replace the others at work, then take the others home. I was sick of taking a tool bag full home every night. As for the salesman, all my Snappy guys have been awsome, the others not so good. Like they say "There is a differance". I have also been a Tech for 12 yrs, but due to back problems I am starting to think about a new line of work.

You know something: That couldn't be any more true. Take something as simple as a Snap-On wrench, any size, metric; SAE, doesn't matter. The way the body of the wrench is shaped is easier on the hands than say a CraftsMan wrench of the same size. The body of a CraftsMan wrench is boxy. Sometimes, you just find yourself taking quick brakes here & there to get the feeling back in your hands. Prolly just me.

I have Snap-On tools in the garage and love them. I do have a small craftsman collection in the cross box of my truck. I preffer to not use the craftsman because they pretty much suck and hurt my hands but in a pinch they get the job done. But if I know I'll be needing tools for the next day of work I'll pull some Snap-On's out of my box and put them in the front seat of my truck (Currently happening right now). The only time I get craftsman tools is when I need a special offset or need to modify a tool to get the project done. I'll modify/destroy craftsman's for one time use but never think of doing it to a Snap-On. |
