I was already planning on joinin NHRDA this next year even though I don't plan on racing the truck. We have an NHRDA event or 3 up here and I made it to one and it was a blast.

So is this still a little family get to together or a way for someone to get rich or richer?? You say it will still be family oriented but with a whole lot more people I don't see how it can be. Sounds like a sell out to commercialism to me. Is it really about how much money can be won or making this a commercial event that is huge or getting together with people that are more like family, hanging out and having fun??

and without a whole lot more people the event wont keep funding to run TJ.....you need payouts to have people show as it is. It isnt a simple meet and greet, we could do that on any test and tune night but would have to deal with ricers. To have a diesel only event there will have to be enough trucks to warrant that.

Bottom line is this is a drag racing event now, its not just a meet and greet...so with or without NHRDA it will need to grow, payouts will need to get bigger, and the event will need to prosper to maintain that. there will still be the ORG brunch...and all the stuff at the hotel and such....

No need to get defensive Marc. Shawn asked for truthful opinions and I stated mine. I was under the impression that is was a meet and greet or get to together, my bad. Guess it is just like anything else, people want to make money off of it.

TJ, Thanks for your opinion on this. Last year was a good show and everybody had fun, but we had to contend with listening to ricers during the night which also slowed our racing down and really hindered our activities. This is not an ORG only event and wasn't last year either. The fast bracket was actually all won by chevy's.

It cost around 8k to rent and staff a track, then their are payouts, paying to get the dyno here, trophies, event shirts. Your looking at around 15,000.00 All of the funding must come from somewhere. In turn there needs to be 375 racers alone for this event to pay for itself. We know that won't happen so it's really a loss on all parties.
