I'm waiting to do the math on this tank. I've got 356 miles and I'm just above the halfway point between a half and a quarter tank. Last time I filled up I had been driving with the low fuel light on for about 20 miles and I got exactly 35 gallons but I filled up the neck too. I dunno how the mileage will work out though because I think my EBPV is stuck. Gotta gut that thing once the weather gets nice.

Its not just the Allison, its the fact it has six speeds to keep the engine in its top performance range. If you want to get an eye opener go to a tranny shop and ask them about which tranny they rebuild more? and which they rebuild less? I will promise you, you are in for the shock of your life. I am talking about the diesel trannys Dodge Ford and GM . Have fun Mike OB

Hello, new member here.
I just purchased my first diesel. 04' excursion, 6.0, 3.73. with 52,000 mi.
I'm a little bummed about the milage 12mpg. does it get any better with summer
fuel? What mods should I be looking at. thanks for your time.

Usually summer fuel gets better mileage. I was getting low to mid 20's consistently all last summer. I just hope the ULSD doesn't affect my mileage too much.
