F-250 crew cab or Excursion
When I get back from from my deployment the wife and I are going to get a new truck. She said that I can get whatever I want but I can't make up my mind, it will be either a F-250 or Excursion. I am looking at spending about $25,000 to $30,000. This will be are "family" vehicle and we have a kid on the way so any input on which one you think would be great.

cant go wrong with either choice... if you wana be able to haul stuff around go with the truck if you dont need that the ex is a good choice

I can't decide on this one either b/c I don't know what you are looking to do with it. If you are going to be doing ANY work with it....go with the truck. If it's going to purely be a family hauler, I'd say the X.

I'm with the other two - I would have personally bought an Ex if I wasn't planning on pulling our 5er and boat..
we have 2 kiddos and it would be perfect for them to grow into PLUS be able to haul other family around when they visit us or we visit them. So, I will vote Ex since really unless you are going to tow 5er's (can still tow a bumper pull with an Ex) or needing a bed to haul stuff (they make trailer for that), you won't need the truck and will LOVE the cargo of the Ex for all the kids stuff on trips!!! |

Had to sell it because needed to save some money, at the time I had 3 truck payments. And with a kid on the way something with an 8" lift wasn't practical.

The only thing that I will be hauling is my 4-wheeler, but I plan on buying a trailer eventually.

As much as I love my 250CC that I got also when I came back from deployment, it sounds like you should look for an Ex and get a trailer...
My dad went back adn forth with the Explorer/Ranger route and he ended up back at an Explorer... (kinda like Marc... ) but if he needs to pull his boat he knows he can call me... and he also bought a little box trailer to do his hauling with too. With your family to be and those plans for a little hauling, but with a trailer, the truck would work, but probibly the Ex would be better... Just my take on it! Good luck hunting for it and lets hope its a Powerstroke! |
