I'd say buy 30 or more, but don't open them all at once, save your receipt and you can always take back what you don't use (or at least some of it...) Better to have an over-abundance than fall short on your wedding day Dave. Good luck buddy and congratulations! If your wedding's anything like mine was, it'll fly by so fast you'll hardly remember too much about the day... Take lots of pictures.

Well if you invite stump and I your going to need at least one keg for each of us.

My family drinks beer by the gallons, so any time we have family parties there will be 2 kegs there, one tapped and one on reserve. Most wedding receptions usually have 3 kegs, 1 tapped and being served and 2 on hand staying cold. That way you know you will not run out. How many people drink, do they drink alot, how many people are attending. You have to factor in all of that.

Plus look at cost factor 1 keg of beer and tap 100 dollars, Now a case of beer is about 20 dollars so 20x5= 100 dollars that is only 120 beers, now there are roughly 15.5 gallons of beer in a keg. So 1 keg=1920 ounces of beer or 160 12 ounce servings. It would take 80 cases of beer to equal 1 keg of beer. That would cost 1600 dollars for enough cases of beer to equal 1 keg of beer that costs roughly 100 dollars. Hmmm I think you would be better off with keg beer.

Ok that took much thinking for me I need a beer now.

Going with a keg is cheaper by far if you plan on having alot of people show up. Another thing that plays a factor is how long do you have the reception hall booked for? If it is all night, people are going to stay longer, which in turn meens your going to need more beer. I just had my wedding just over a month ago and had to go throught the same thing. I had 200 invatations out and only about 75 people showed up(it was on the weekend after the 4th of July, not the best weekend to have it because everybody had better things to do). Those 75 people went threw one keg of beer. I had 3 kegs on hand because I was set up thinking that 200 people might show up. I just took the other kegs back to the store and got my money back. If you think a keg is going to be to much, get a 1/4 keg or a party ball. Hope this info helps you out and Congrats to you both.

6.8 cases of beer to a keg of beer. 80 cases would be 11.6 kegs.
