i think u people should really get a turbo timer, they arnt that much and they save u money in the long run

I do have a turbo timer as part of my D.E.I Python alarm system with remote start. Have not used the option often, except after long hard pulls with the 5er. Have to set mine by expected minutes. Not hard to do.

All the diesel experts I have talked to said they're good to have, but unnecessary to use about 98% of the time. Quick shutdown after a good hard run, right after pulling a trailer or a heavy load in the bed are necessary. If you're more than a couple minutes after a hard run empty, just shut it off like normal.

Today’s turbo-diesels are a different story. There is really no reason to “cool down” a turbo-diesel these days, but you won’t hurt anything by doing it either. You can still find people who swear you have to do it, but the myth is fading. Maybe they just like to sit and listen to the radio.
