I run Rotella 5 w 40 full syntec all year round. I get better fuel milage and it last longer than none syntec. I put 3k a week on my truck and thats pulling very heavy loads. I try others and i like R the best.

Other...

If nothing else that I've learned in my 34 years of driving and maintaining a vehicle is that the manufacturers do massive amounts of research on lubricants, fluids and many other aspects of automotive engineering...

Other then the fact that I bought the maintenance package, I would say there is nothing wrong at all with the Motorcraft stuff that is put in at the factory and everytime I take it in for service...

And lets face it, the manufacturers of the "third party" oils are easily as good as any other.. The vehicle manufacturer uses one or more of these third party oil manufacturers to make/package their own product....
