okay really... alot of people from Texas say how big and bad they are... and how there is no state like them... well then what the _ _ _ _ is all of those mexicans doing there and nothing is bein done? if you guys can't stop them from coming in what makes you think you will surive on ur own

i talked to my dad about this last night. it would take a lot to make this state break away. and like you said, our illigal problem isnt fixed. so i dont know what will happen.

1) Let's back off the Mexican talk and call the people you are referring to illegals. Mexicans or anybody else here legally are not the problem.

2) We wouldn't have a bunch of liberal courts or politicians telling us how we can or cannot protect our borders. Shut the borders down. Not the recognized points of crossing, but those out in the hinter lands. Put our Army on the border. Let the illegals cross into NM., AZ., CA.

3) No welfare state for illegals or anybody else to take advantage of. Make the lazy SOB's legal citizens who won't work work. If they won't, they have 49 other states to invade and mooch off of.

4) Hopefully we would crack down on the businesses hiring them. Take the owners to the cleaners. Make it too expensive for people to want to run the risk of hiring them.

Feel free to chime in, but IMO this is a pretty damn good plan if you ask me.

Illegals are not as big of an issue as libreal democrats.... If we were to get rid of one then it would be easier to get rid of the other. The border is only a issue because our government does not address it properly. In this country you will get noticed a lot faster for speeding or tax evasion than being a illegal allien. Also this is a huge reason why our food cost is as low as it is. Illegal alliens are willing to work for less than a legitimate citizen. Who really wants to make minimum wage in this country and actually work their arse off for it? The awnser is illegal aliens than would get paid less elsewhere. We actually pay people to do nothing in this country and that is completely the fault of the people who elected the government who passed the laws.

There are so many more issues to address:

Texas would have to write the following into their constitution:

1. Gold standard.

2. Balanced budget.

3. No personal income tax; I know they already do not have a state personal income tax. I am talking on a federal level.

4. Marriage between one natural biological male and one natural biological female.

5. English as official language, period.

6. No welfare, no food stamps, no Medicaid. That is the function of the Church to help those in need and who have fallen on tough times.

7. No Second "Amendment". The right to keep and bear arms to be written into the main body of the Constitution. No limit on what type a firearm a person can own or how many. Write the "Second Amendment" in such terms that the right to keep and bears arms is absolutely impossible to misinterpret in any way shape or form, any bleeding heart moron liberal could not twist the meaning.

8. Porn not protected under the First Amendment.

9. Rapists and child molesters to be executed by firing squad, period.

Yes, I would go only if Montana didn't secede first.

disposal. Because he's a coward, and cowards are quick to resort to violence
when they can't defend their positions. Violence can be interpreted as any
form of intimidation.

As for buying things not made in Texas, I don't see your point. If Texas were
again an independent Nation, they could trade with Mexico, China, Korea,
Japan, and the U.S. subject to treaties and agreements entered into by
Texas and the other Nations. No change.

As for visiting your buddies in Oklahoma and elsewhere, the U.S. does not
now have closed borders. You may need a passport, but so do we now if
we leave the country.

As for the loss of Federal funding to support the infrastructure, where do you
think that Federal funding comes from? It is stolen from the people, then
doled back out to the people, minus significant handling charges. And some
is redistributed to other states from the state it was stolen from. "Pork".
Take out the middleman, and you're money ahead.

As for businesses leaving, maybe not. Businesses are leaving the U.S.
already, in search of more favorable tax treatment and labor rates. If Texas
didn't make it rough on business to survive, there is no reason business
should leave. They could then 'export' their products to the U.S. and 'other'
foreign countries.

I suspect Texas could easily rack up a comfortable trade surplus.

If Oklahoma didn't immediately follow suit, I think I'd try to become a citizen
of the Republic of Texas.

Amen! I just saw my sons list of school supplies and there was something on there for spanish class! Hes in 6th grade and learning spanish!
