this probably started with idiots who have no concept of utility. this is disgusting. at first i thought it was only 'assisted opening' which is silly to begin with. that DOC above declares ALL pocket knives.

so, carrying a non-folding knife will still be legal? So, i can have a machete with me without issue?

this better fail quickly!

i'm writing my senators NOW!

that one was for hawaii but there is a assisted opening pocket knife ban on the table nationwide.

even still, we need to start voicing our opinions NOW while this is still in it's infancy and stop things like this in the bud.

this is what i just wrote to my senators:

Subject:Vote NO on Pocket knife ban...PLEASE!

Dear Senator,

The proposed pocket knife ban, whether assisted or unassisted opening, is completely absurd. Is the government trying to 'dumb us down' to the point of not being responsible for ourselves?

I've carried a pocket knive for more than 1/2 of my life and it's come in handy so many times in day-to-day life. I could give you 100 uses that are not only utilitarian and self sufficient but, I don't feel I need to tell you the ways a pocket knife can be handy.

I feel that we are having our freedoms stripped away by folks who have everything handed to them don't understand 'real' life of a working person.

Please vote no on any proposed pocket knife ban. They are not aggression/crime items but items that makes peoples lives easier...I am truly beside myself and cannot believe I have to write a senator for this type of issue.

Thankfully Yours,
Dave

I'm going to cut and paste your letter and use it for myself if that is okay?

Yes it is. I mean where does it stop. What the hell does banning a pocket knife going to do? Criminals are still going to have them. God forbid if I had to use one to protect myself from some lowlife piece of shiit. Sometimes I wonder who is running this country, a bunch of morons?
