Carolyn McCarthy to Introduce Weapons Ban

On Thursday, the office of U.S. Rep. Carolyn McCarthy of Long Island, whose husband was killed by a deranged gunman on the Long Island Rail Road in 1993, said she intends to introduce a bill that would reinstitute a version of the 1994 assault-weapons ban.

Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D., Calif.) said she is considering introducing a bill to renew the ban "with the recognition that it will be an uphill fight."

Last I heard Pelosi was saying she would not persue any Gun control legislation right now,how long that will last I am not sure..

pelosi and other big wigs won't. I read where their game plan was to have other less known members start introducing these bills. It appears as though this has started.

It is truly a tragedy that this womans husband was gunned down by a nut. But what I don't understand is the mind set. Guns are bad, get rid of all of them.

Here in Texas in the early 90's we had a gunman go on a killing spree at a Luby's in Killeen. The result, more rights to carry weapons in Texaa. Oh and much like the case in New York, one of the ladies who survived the incident went on to run for office and push for gun rights, not gun restrictions.

This once again is a great case for States Rights.
