You know, maybe you're on to something!! We could use the same laws to get rid of drugs!! Let's make them illegal, tell all drug users to bring in their drugs, make all pushers stop making the drugs, and ask Mexico to stop sending them to the US. And PRESTO, drugs are a thing of the past.

And, we can put stiff penalties on those that choose to continue using them. That'll teach 'em!!

WOW, why didn't I think of this? I could have been a Senator or something!!

Why should anyone have to register their legally obtained firearm, it does not state that in the Constitutution, regardless on their economic stature. Get ready for the firestorm from our Arkansas members.

In this case, yes, some one with a fire arm would have helped ( ie: shot gun, 7.62, 6.5 x 55, 30-06 ) but of all the other violent crimes committed, if the criminal never had a firearm to begin with, the crime wouldn't take place. I hope...
Don’t get mad!

That is complete rubbish. A FACT, get rid of hand guns crime goes up. This has been proven. Look at Australia and Britain. Criminals do not and will not turn in their guns. They will still commit violent crime just with grater impunity.

If he does not use it to commit a crime, what does it matter?

Hey, who's calling names now? Don't malign Billy-Bob! Some of my best friends have two first names!

I ain't got time or money to waste on gettin' all the forms and licenses. I think that if the Canadian government wants to crack down on illegal firearms, then target handguns! There is "ZERO" need for handguns in Canada, you're not allowed to hunt with one, so why have one! Make hand guns 100% illegal, regardless of reason, except for law enforcement, and leave rifles and shotguns alone.
You aren't even allowed to pack a handgun when hunting? WOW! At least in Oregon I'm allowed to pack a pistol during rifle or archery season. Albeit during Archery it's for my personal protection since Bambi isn't the only inhabitant of the woods.

Absolutely! He has as much right to the 2nd Amendment and his right to self-defense as I or anyone else in this country. Now, if he's a criminal with a record, that's a different matter!

You're playing with stereotypes now. That's a dangerous habit to fall into.

Nope. The only reason for a hand gun in Canada is for target shooting and trapping. Don't get me started on all the hoops you gotta jump through to get the rights to carry one on your trap line.

Less crime in Kanada then The USA, lets see here, Kanada has 30 million people and the state of California has 30 million. Cut the bullchit. USA has a total of over 300 million people. Of coarse there is going to be more crime , I'm all for hand guns, be it for bear or cat protection or protection from some idiot liberal gangster. Why is it that a gangster can get caught with illegal hand guns and get off with $15000.00 bail , and why is it that my tax paying money has two police cars protecting them when they should be protecting innocent people? Oh yes the registry that has saved so many lives can go down in flames, it has helped put Kanada further in the hole.
