This was one of the main reasons I joined the Air Force besides following in my Dad's footsteps and serving my country for the next 5 years. He was a logger before he joined and he wanted out. I wouldn't mind going back to construction and continuing my heavy equiptment operator apprenticeship through the union but I was the low man on the totem pole and 2 months prior to enlisted I was on what you could call a long vacation thanks to the economy.
