Who has thought about running for Congress?

I've been giving it a lot of thought lately but don't know if I want to go through with the hassle. Our Congressman, Chet Edwards, has been in Congress for way too long and there is never anybody that gets close to beating him. I have no idea how to go about getting the process started or how to get the public's attention like he does with all the donkey party behind him.

Anybody else been thinking about running as well?

My Father (lives in Bosque Co.)was an alternate delegate for the Republican party last year and he said Ole Chet is really entrenched with both parties. Due to his spending through the good ole boy network.

He is most likely going to retire before anyone is able to defeat him. However, Rob Orr is an up and coming 1st year (R) representative that represents Bosque and Johnson counties and in my opinion has what it takes.
I know you don't live in his district, but it dosen't hurt to get to know as many as you can.

Whether or not he will challenge Chet remains to be seen.

If you don't know Rob, you should call and get to know him he's a real good person that I believe will not succomb to the politics as usual crowd. I went to Real Estate school with him back in 1983.

I honestly would love to, but the republican party around here is a joke and the third parties are the same way.

Couldn't pass the media muster, even though I have less skeletons in my closet then most 1st year politicians, I'm not greedy enough.

Only Congress I will attend is the 3rd Continental Congress. All of those Critters up there are controlled. Political options are off the table at this point.

I am tired of beating the dead horse. Some of you have listened to my view and I appreciate it, but the fact is there are three "boxes" that run this country - the ballot box; jury box; cartridge box. I will let you guess which one is not totally broken.

Yeah it's probably silly of me to think I could fix something in a system that's completly broken. My wife doesn't want me to try because she says she loves me.

Heard Chet Edwards on 1230 am this morning and all he did was repeat the Donkey phrases and mention the money gonig to the special needs teachers and VA. He knows how to play the game and talk about the things nobody will say shouldn't get funding. Still think that there are more people like me than the ones with their hands out. Wonder how many political cleansings will take place in two years?

i have thought about, in the end i won't for the following reasons:

1. I wouldn't get elected cuz i would want to do things that make sense
2. even if i did get elected, i would last very long cuz most of the politicians would have me kicked out for calling them on their stupidity.

if you see a light at the end of the tunnel, it's probably just a photon torpedo

I believe I would be "black balled" real quick. They want sheep in both parties.

Have you been to the VA in Waco, or Temple for that matter? If you haven't, you need to and tell me where the money is going, it's the biggest lie I have ever heard.

It will be all but imposable for any one to even come close to unseating Cheat Edwards. I believe Rob already tried and it wasn’t pretty. The problem is Chet Edwards has done a lot of good for his district, and every one around knows it. That’s why Chet gets votes from both sides. Chet was also very instrumental in keeping the Waco VA hospital open. That goes along for some people no matter their political party.
