I don't understand how they can justify this with zero tolerance of guns. She didn't have any guns! My high school's drill team (which was a dance team and had nothing to do with the military) used to walk around school carrying their "rifles" and no one cared. This girl just had them in her car. WTH?

A kid in my town got arrested for having a water pistol in his car at the car wash. Some lady thought it was a real gun. The worst part is we are a small community, about 8000 people.

Here in The Peoples Republic of California the high school valedictorian, an Eagle scout was expelled before graduation because he had a broken hatchet in his car from making a local hiking trail wheelchair accessible. His car was searched because it was on school property. He was to give the speech at graduation. Again zero tolerance zero IQ.
