Can a Country File Bankruptcy.

Can a Country file Bankruptcy. If so what kind can they file. Chapter 7,9,11,13, if a country does file bankruptcy is that considered depression.

When a country file for bankruptcy, how is the bankruptkcy court funded?

Our currency is more electronic now isn't it? I mean I rarely have cash, only my card.

I was refering to the fact that we are no longer on the gold standard, and our currency
is not backed by anything of value. Just our 'trust'.
