Waco II?

This is not intended to be inflamatory. This is not intended to be flame bait.

So, am I the only one who finds it strange that no one is talking (in the media) about the lack of an accuser and the lack of an accused at the compound in Texas? Am I the only one who finds it strange that while showing up with a warrant to check the welfare of a (one) 16 year old girl, they had sufficient equipment and personnel on hand to evacuate hundreds of women and children? Am I the only one who feels that the people should be left alone absent overwhelming evidence of imminent harm to minors? Am I the only one who is curious about the lack of such evidence? (If there were such, you can bet it would have been "leaked" to the media by now).

Societal norms aside, I have no issue with polygamy, if it is a voluntary arrangement, and all are cared for. I haven't seen any evidence, only rumors, of abuse.

Does anyone doubt the ultimate outcome of this situation? Evidence will materialize (real or fabricated) which will support the actions taken thus far, and hundreds of children's lives will continue to be disrupted. Does
anyone believe that the state can provide better, safer homes for those children than the one they were taken from? (Look around, and recall all the stories of foster care abuse) Those responsible will don their "I'm looking out for you" hats, campaign for reelection, and hundreds of lives will be destroyed.

Do we really have freedom of religion in this country? Am I the only one wondering about all this?

I love my country. I don't trust most elected (or appointed) officials.

My

No...you're not alone. We should all be concerned about what has just happened.

I think the group is sick, and am glad they are through in Texas. They have several 15yo pregnant girls, and the women interviewed on Foxnews, thinks that there is nothing out of the ordinary. Were they all consenting adults I would think differently about the situation.

I AM concerned with the welfare of the children involved. I've yet to see a government program that worked.

I may be wrong, but I havent heard anybody say they were raped yet. As far as I know, they were all consenting to their relationship. I do know that not too long ago 14 and 15 years old and getting married was not that uncommon. Look at Jerry Lee Lewis.....he married his COUSIN who was 15 and nobody threw them in jail or made a huge federal court hearing out of it. It was talked about, but nothing was done about it. Y? Because it wasn't THAT out of the ordinary. More talk was made out of her being his cousin, whether 1st or 2nd or whatever it was, than of her age.

I'll comment more later when I can.... (meeting time) but the reason they had the manpower on hand when they initially went to the compound was for fear of another Waco and they wanted to be prepared.

Polygamy doesn't bother me as long as it's not with minors...

NOW WHAT P'S ME OFF.... them using every social service they can and bleeding the system of thousands and thousands $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$!

I am not condoning their practices, but age of consent in Texas is 16y/o. You can be married in Texas at that age with the consent of your parents. I have not heard definitively how old the youngest pregnant girl is. Why are the authorities so concerned with the welfare of these girls but not the girls in OUR society that are 12-16 who are pregnant and have kids by multiple dads? Where is CPS when it comes to these kids? Where are the authorities bringing charges against the male figures impregnating these girls?
At what point do the authorities decide who to go after? Seems to me if you have a religious belief you get targeted, but if you are out there spitting out babies that's your right regardless who impregnates you or your ability to care for the children being created.

From the news reports I have seen and read, they were completely self-sufficient. They even generated their own electricity. They didn't use local hospitals to deliver the babies, which is one reason the kids didn't have birth certificates.

I haven't heard anything about them being heavily armed like the Branch Davidians ().

I havent either. I havent heard of anybody saying they were going to stand off against the goverment and have a shootout. ONE girl called in anonymously and every swat team from four counties showed up it seems like.
and one other thing on a side note....the goverment does NOT know what is best for me and my family.
