The patriot riders are a kick azz bunch! God Bless 'em, I've seen the work they do first hand. No way in hell to keep your eyes dry when you see 20-30 red, white, and blue themed harley riders paving the way for a hurse you know is carrying one of our nations finest! The Westboro Baptist church has protested here in Iowa too, most recently at a funeral for an entire family that were victims of a murder/suicide by their own father. That quack job of a "minister" claims that it was all the fault of gays in our society... They have picketed military funerals too and the Patriot riders have always been there to protect the family. I know our constitution and the freedoms it provides each and every one of us is what allows this group of nut jobs and traitors to preach their lies and hate across this great country of ours. I respect the right to think and speak what you think, but I would GLADLY spend a few days in jail for the opportunity to make a few of these protesters sh!t their own teeth! God bless America, and if you don't love it why don't you get the hell out! ![]() |

I live in a town of about 3000 people and two of our own have lost their lives serving in Iraq. A little over a year ago, the 2nd soldier died and a friend of the family organized a large gathering to pay respects as the body was returned to town. A group of the Patriot riders escorted that hurse about 40 miles from the airport to our town in the pouring rain, and there were hundreds of people also soaking wet, waiting for almost 2 hours for the procession to come through. They lined the street, kids holding small flags that were handed out earlier, their parents holding umbrellas over their heads to keep them dry. I stood there, with many others and when that procession came by, seeing everyone snap to attention, hats off, hands over hearts, several dozen harleys in front and behind the hurse as one of our own came home I bawled like a baby. Looking around me I don't think there was a dry eye on the street. All of us there, that day were just plain old Americans showing their respect, and anyone either alone or as a group that would disrespect that moment in time deserves the full weight of the repercussions that would come their way.
