I have seen her speak and that was one thing I was impressed about her. But like Mark said, "It's amazing what the gut tells you about things in life." One of her aspirations is to be the NFL Comissioner. I think that is pretty cool. That isn't why I think she would be a viable VP or even Pres one day. Just the fact that she would want to tackle that position is kind of interesting to me. Craig |

She was speaking about the war, why we were in it, etc. She was very good under fire, very articulate, composed. She had much more grace than those attacking her in front of the cameras. My wife and I have always admired her. She's accomplished a lot. I'd vote for her. As far as Gen Powell, well I'm not so sure. I never liked the way the first Gulf war ended, and I'm sure Powell had a lot of input into that. Stormin' Norman, now, he's my kind of General. No nonsense, kick a$$ kind of guy. Get in, get it done, get out, with minimum risk to our own forces. He was concerned to the point of distraction about the welfare of those under his command. All the more reason for sound strategy, and overwhelming force. Unfortunately, as I think Huckabee said about Jesus, "He's too smart to run for office." Or something to that effect. So we choose from among those who offer themselves to us. |

I'll vote McCain either way but the woman/african american aspect will bring alot more McCain votes. Anoter thing to consider is the fact that McCain is so old...he could stroke out under the pressure and the VP would have to step up. I think Condi would be a good choice. |

Man Condi has a HUGE resume of accomplishments, she is tough, and a very eloquent speaker, not like bumbling Dubya at all. As far as how the first Gulf War ended, you need to look to our Current Commander in Chief's daddy for that! Gen Powell was the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs, but as such is still only an "adviser" to the commander in chief. If you read Colin Powell's book "my American journey" you would know his insight to the gulf war, he wanted to go to Baghdad! He is as or more accomplished as anyone today and I think he is the viable option to be the first black president, but his wife won't let him run for fear of assassination. He is a staunch conservative, and has the country AND the troops in his best interest. You know we NEED a president with a military past, as they are going to be the least likely to put the troops into harms way unless absolutely necessary. They won't just throw the boys around like pawns on a chess board like a non military politician. |
