A Day in the Life of Joe Middle Class Republican

I'm not usually a big fan of e-mail forwards, but at least this one is funny...

Joe rises at 6:00am to prepare his morning coffee. He fills his pot
full of good clean drinking water because some liberal fought for
minimum water quality standards. He takes his daily medication with
his first swallow of coffee. His medications are safe to take because
some liberal fought to insure their safety and effectiveness. All but
$10.00 of his medications are paid for by his employers medical plan
because some liberal union workers fought their employers for paid
medical insurance, and now he has it too. He prepares his morning
breakfast with bacon which is safe to eat because some liberal fought
for laws to regulate the meat packing industry.

Joe takes his morning shower reaching for his shampoo. The bottle is
labeled with every ingredient because some liberal fought for his right
to know what he was putting on his body. Joe dresses, walks outside,
and takes a deep breath. The air he breathes is clean because some tree
hugging liberal fought for laws to stop industries from polluting the air.

Joe begins his work day; he has a good job with excellent pay, medical
benefits, retirement, paid holidays and vacation because some liberal
union members fought and died for these working standards. Joe's
employer pays these standards because Joe's employer doesn't want his
employees to call the union. If Joe is hurt on the job or becomes
unemployed he'll get a worker compensation or unemployment check because
some liberal didn't think he should lose his home because of his
temporary misfortune.

It's noon time and Joe needs to make a bank deposit so he can pay some
bills. Joe's deposit is federally insured by the FDIC because some
liberal wanted to protect Joe's money from unscrupulous bankers who
ruined the banking system before the Great Depression. Joe is making
payments on his Fannie Mae underwritten mortgage and his below market
federal student loan because some stupid liberal decided that Joe and
the rest of the country would be better off if he was educated and
earned more money over his lifetime.

Joe is home from work. He gets in his car to visit his Dad at his farm
home in the country. His car is among the safest in the world because
some liberal fought for car safety standards. He arrives at his
boyhood home. He was the third generation to live in the house financed
by Farmer's Home Administration because bankers didn't want to make
rural loans. The house didn't have electric service until some big
government liberal stuck his nose where it didn't belong an demanded
rural electrification. He is happy to see his Dad, who is now
retired. Dad lives on a combination of Social Security and his union
pension because some liberal made sure he could take care of himself so
Joe wouldn't have to.

After his visit with Dad, he gets into his car to drive home. He turns
on the radio and the talk show host keeps saying that liberals are bad
and conservatives are good. (He doesn't tell Joe that his beloved
Republicans have fought against every protection and benefit Joe enjoys
throughout his day) and Joe agrees, "We don't need those big government
liberals ruining our lives; after all, I'm a self made man who believes
everyone should take care of themselves, just like I have."

Let us thank them also for making these parks off limits to the tax paying citizens who are the source of funds to preserve these parks.

Thank goodness the SUPERIOR liberals backed unions so that even the worst teacher cannot be fired, this happens to be Joe's kids teacher, subsequently the kids are now dumber than the aforementioned teacher, and Joe has no recourse to remove said teacher.

Thank goodness the SUPERIOR liberals have decided that Joe didn't need to keep all of the money he makes, but that he needs to give it to others who aren't willing to work as hard as Joe does, or who are in this country illegally.

Thank goodness the SUPERIOR liberals have decided that criminals should be lightly punished or not at all. Therefore, Joe's dad who would like to come into the city, can't, because he is terrified and is not allowed to own a hand gun, is now forced to stay on his place in the country. Joe would like to visit more often, but since the SUPERIOR liberals have raised the tax on fuel, he cannot because he is on his way to his second job.

Thank goodness the SUPERIOR liberals got Joe's dad electricity; but since deregulation of the industry, Joe's dad cannot afford to pay for it, and now keeps candles lit at night to see by.

Thank goodness for the SUPERIOR liberals who protected the city of Berkely from the invading Marines, and used harsh language and annoying tactics to repel the marauding invaders. Dissuading future enemies from even considering an attack on the brave liberal bastion.

There WAS a time for liberalism......but that ended when there became far too many of them.( I think that was the seventies,when many of the students lost interest in Engineering and technical studies and pursued LIBERAL ARTS !!! )
