What Will Labor Do.......

If both Liberal candidates are pro-amnesty for illegal aliens, who will the unions support?

This has made me wonder. I have heard the unions complain about illegal aliens driving down wages, but then they turn around and support the party that is pro-illegal "chaos" (my phrase). It re-enforces my belief that union leaders are only interested in power and position for themselves.

The Unions will do what they always do,support the Democrat's,regardless of the positions the Democrat's take that would harm labor.

unions are a waste of money and time in 99% of industries.....people could actually make more on the free market.

The unions, In thier day, were a necessity to keep big business from screwing workers. That day has now come and pass......there are SO many ways an individual can fight a corperation. There are labor boards...attournies....etc...etc. What the unions used to do for most poeple...they can now do for themselves.....

The unions now just do everything they can to be greedy and not go under. I grew up in a VERY pro-union town......a mining town...so its not like i dont know what they are about. My gradandpa was in a carpenters union for 40 plus years and my other grandpa was an electrition in a union for the same amount of time. The bottom line is IMO MOST (still not all....but most) american workers who are working for a union company now could do better on thier own. The only thing union jobs prevent anymore is lazy people from being fired.....

I've always wondered about it. The libs always talk about what the "RICH" have. From what I see, that's what turns the economy. I'm not rich, but when the economy slows, the rich tighten their belts, and blue collar loses work. I'm in fast food. When blue collar doesn't have work, I lose business.
So, I'm thinking, the rich getting richer, by lib standards is a GOOD thing.

And I agree on the union thing. It's damm neat impossible to fire someone these days. Why do you need a union arbitrator. Just a waste of dues better spent on beer, or diesel.

The Libs we're for those free trade agreements that ended up exporting alot of jobs, remember the Gore/Perot debate? Seems Obama is courting the unions, hes bashing Clinton on free trade agreements.

Then they (Libs) blame rich fat cat conservitives for moving manfacturing overseas.

There is a whole lot wrong with these statements. I am self employed and a union contractor and I can tell you the benefits, such as health insurance and pension plans that I get for half wht I would pay doing it on the FREE MARKET. The very first ones to get laid of on jobs are the lazy workers. My dad and I put in close to 80 hours a week and make just enough to pay the bills. We have been doing this for 6 years now and are just starting to make some money. With as much as it costs to actually be legal and have all the required insurance it takes and extremely long time to make any money. The unions are greedy, they actually want there members to have jobs and make a decent living. Unlike the guys who hire the illegals who work them 20 hours a day and don't pay any insurance for them. If you have actually benn union and would like to argue some facts with me great, but don't come on here with second hand info and talk about stuff you don't know about. That is like me saying all dealers are rip-offs, and when you get down to it I've only had one bad experience with a dealer.

first of all....i said 99% of industry....and yes...small businesses do benifit from some unions.....

u make it sound like i have no experience with unions. i have at least 8 family members currently working union jobs and at least 13 others that did at one point....including both my father and step-father.....not including myself

MOST unions make it almost impossible to fire a long tenured worker no matter how lazy or bad of a job he does....so dont tell me that the lazy ones are the first to go.....that may be true for a small business but the majority of unions jobs that doesnt hold true....

OHHHH.....and i have worked 2 unions jobs.......so dont come in here and tell me i dont know what im talking about Both of those jobs DIDNT allow me to negotiate a higher wage....and one of them i got layed off over longer tenured worker even though he didnt to $HIT compared to what i did.... I paid way too much of my wage to a union that didnt do squat for me! the ONLY thing that was decent with the union jobs were the medical benifits.......and given what i paid the union i could have gotten comperable insurance using that money plus what i already could get at a non union job to just do it myself....
