I think most people just want someone in office that is going to keep sending them their welfare check.
Yeah i have heard the same things also. People think especially obama will be shot not long after being elected, if that happens. One thing you have to remember is that the president is useless without a senate and a house that support him or her. So even if an extreme liberal makes the office, you can still change things up by voting in a conservative senate and house. This is really showing in MN where i live now. The governor (R) just vetoed a gas tax increase and the senate and house (D) overrulled him and now we are F'd with a new 8 cent tax increase along with higher license plate tabs and other things.

I have to tell ya, I find this very disturbing and I have to disagree completely. While I am a fan of neither of these two, I do not believe either would be assassinated, nor would I hope or want such a thing. Maybe I am naive, but I do believe that as a Nation we have grown past such actions, especially when it comes to the color of a man or woman's skin. Is there some idiot out there who would try it? Sure, but I do not believe the risk of this would be any greater than what recent presidents have faced.

If Obama or Hillary were president and got too out of control with the direction they wanted to take this country, I believe they could be stopped by the Senate and House of Representatives, or the Courts (depending on who appointed the Supreme Court Justices) which is why it is so important to be involved in the political process and vote.

Just my .02.

Wow I hope not. Besides the tragedy of loss of life it would only give the liberals more incentive to take away our freedom's. Hopefully enough people will vote and take care of that problem before something like that happens.

As to your Snopes article you post, it just confirms what I posted. It had nothting to do with Hugo Chavez or Venzuela. Snopes also leaves out one key piece of information about Che Guevera. That is that Che fought with Fidel Castro and Camilo Cienfuegos to over throw Batista and install a communist government. So his image on that Cuban flag has much historical meaning.

EDIT: The only thing that could possibly be construed as not being true in my original post is that I called Senator Obama a communist. However, that remains to be seen.

I never said YOU were slinging mud, that is a political term and I never took you for a politicial.
Chill out brotha.
Bill and Hilary are starting all the crap on Obama... or i believe that to be true. Notice that Obama is not starting any "mudslinging" with the Clintons...hes a cool cat. I aint a Dem either, this is just how it goes every 4 years...the other party or in this case, the same party starts slinging mud at there strongest oponent.

When he did not salute the American flag I knew there was something bad about this guy. He is a typical Socialist. Before you know it we will be speaking Arabic.

I would hate to say this or even imagine that it would happen, but I have to agree.

I don't think it's naive to think that way. I just think these two candidates are so off the mainstream that some reactionary will try to rectify the vote with a supersonic boattail.

You are right about that. I sure didn't think about that side of the coin.

I am a conservative, but having a republican in office like Mc Cain scares me too, and makes me think if a republican wins it we could be headed for a HELL of a recession.... It truly looks like a lose - lose situation .....
