I don't have all the facts, but like every other news report that comes out these days, the drive-by media (rush limbaugh terminology) only reports what they want you to read. I'm sure there is a kernel of truth to it, but you don't have a timeline or anything else that goes along with the story.....Why in the f@#k would you spend a chitload of money only to have what you built blown to hell again??? Makes me think that USA Today left out some key information. The U.S. spends the most because we consume the most. We also started it. It's just like every other major conflict we have been involved with for the last 200 years. Hell, look at Japan......they don't even have anything we need....

Im just tryin to get a better understanding of this war? the only reason for war is money or resources. we are loosing both on this war. if they where truly worried about terrorist they could have taken care of that with strategic tactical strikes and had this chit taken care of before it even started. I still find it hard to believe that the american people have paid billions of dollars and lives so that Bush jr. could have the pride of acomplisheng what his daddy couldnt.

Smaybe im thinking like a nazi but I say take their oil. what are they doing with the money? obviously not putting it back into their own country and gov system.
I think you, I and a whole lot of Americans are wondering the same things. I can't help but think that the top governmental officials have something to gain by staying there and continuing this ordeal. Just like Lyndon B Johnson did in Vietnam with Brown and Root in the name of his "Great Economic Reform", GW, Cheney and the oil cronies are tied in with Haliburton (which used to be Brown and Root) and they ARE reaping the royalties from all that oil. To maintain that he has to continue the facade that we are over there liberating a group of people. Otherwise people would know what was going on. It sure would explain why everyone else hates us now. Maybe they know the truth, maybe they don't. I'm sure that we don't. Like CAT said, we are definately getting a diluted and very skewed version of the truth. Of course, this is ALL speculation because the government is doing a good job at keeping us in the dark. Something I do know: just hours before the initial war started, Navy seals took control of this place> EagleSpeak: Who's Keeping an Eye on the Iraqi Oil Terminals? US Navy Mobile Security Detachments and a tanker loaded with oil from there pulled into Port Arthur TX before the bombing stopped.

I do believe that we are in to deep to pull out. no sence in giving up and wasting the billions and billions we have already spent in acomplishing whatever we are trying to do. I just feel the american people should recieve something in return for what we are doing other than an insincer thank you note and 30 years worth of debt and colapsing economy when this is all over with.
