Friggin idiots!!!!!!!!!! That made me sick. Its not the teachers fault, it starts at home. Teachers aren't responsible for your kids you are. It doesn't matter how old or where the kids are, if nobody but the teachers care, then the kids are screwed because the teachers can't help them at home. It would help too if they didn't just push kids throught the grades either.

Now I've seen first hand the damage a ****ty staff member can do in a school, but I truly have a hard time believing that every single staff person there falls in that category. You know, if school districts paid, more creative, engaging, effective people would become teachers. I have nothing but respect for school teachers, they put up with way more than anyone should have to...

Chances are they should have fired the school administrators first. Management never fires themself first

No child left behind has to be the worse thing the government has done to education. My brother and sister are both teachers. ( My brother high school science, sister 4th grade) They of course get graded on how the testing performs, but it isn't done fairly through out the state or even district. My sister has continuosly gotten the least advanced kids through out her career, and makes extreme impovements in all of them. Her typical class has 50% of it barely on a 2nd grade level and the other half at least a 1/2 year behind. Her class scores the lowest on those test, and it isn't for lack of trying. How does America as a whole keep getting dumber but all the schools have proficient test scores?

Ha

I've heard this time and time again. The best teacher in the world cant teach a fencepost. It starts at home and then finishes in school! Sometimes you need to consider the location of the school.

I don't think it was right either, but I dont know all the reasons either. One thing it will do is put the onus on the school board now! They will have no other excuses. But you are right it starts with a healthy home with good parents.
