I agree - Everyone is so bent on not upsetting others that they are upsetting us. "Happy Holidays" is because we don't know what the other person may believe.

It's Merry Christmas for crying out loud. If you know someone participate in Jewish festivities, then wish them Happy Hanukkah. If you know someone participates in Kwanzaa festivities, then wish them Happy Kwanzaa.

Whatever ya do, don't tell me what to say or not say.

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year to ya'll. Back East, out West, up North or way down South, Merry Christmas.
Not having Christ in Christmas is like a unsharpen pencil, what's the point.

Seems like it gets worse every year. I've been thinking the same thing for the past few weeks. Seems like all the store ads and everything are saying "holidays"

usually when i would say happy holidays i always meant pretty much ''merry christmas, and happy new year''. not ''merry christmas, happy hanukkah. happy festivus blah blah blah blah''. it had nothing to do with offending non believers or people who don't celebrate christmas. it had more to do with the christmas, and new years holidays, because it was easier than saying merry christmas, and happy new year.

i don't mind people saying happy holidays, but i just hate certain things like the guy who flipped out cause the cashier at the store wished him, and his daughter a merry christmas, and asked his daughter what santa was giving her. yes i read a post on another forum years ago where this guy flipped out cause the cashier at a store asked what santa was bringing her to his daughter who was jewish. how are we supposed to know if your jewish, christian, atheist? whatever.

if i know someone is jewish i tell them happy hannukah. if i don't know what they are i say merry christmas. if i won't see them again until after the new year i'll say happy holidays. i don't mean anything by it if you're jewish or atheist, and i wish you a merry christmas.

Well, part of my face-off with those morons was, first you called it X-mas..just not good enough,so you push the happy holidays chit.....

Bottom line-it's the celebration of the birth of Christ.....DUUUHH!!!

So I hit their wits hard(which was easier than i thought)

I hit them with ---If you hate calling it Christmas, and wow!!..it's the same day as Christ's birth, then why not make your own so-called happy holidays in some other month-just pick one...I don't care which....but don't steal a day in history for your own petty selfishness and constant showing of major stupidity!

They walked away...

So being the smart arse I am.....I kept yelling MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ONE AND ALL IDIOTS JUST LIKE YOU!!

I think I got on their nerves a little....

But I do want to wish every one a Merry Christmas and thanks for the supportive replies

Hmm....got more nerves to pluck tomorrow before Christmas gets here

Well, If 'they' don't want to hear Merry Christmas anymore, they could move to Iran. I'm sure President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad (yes, I had to look up the spelling) will make sure they never, ever hear it again. Just sayin'
